The availability of a domain name depends on the quality of the nameservers. Don't like the idea of managing them yourself? Then use the powerful nameserver management tool of Openprovider, giving access to our high-quality nameservers. Price? Free, of course!
Quality and security
The nameservers of Openprovider run on geographically dispersed locations (Amsterdam and Rotterdam), in distinct subnets and on the highest quality hardware. Our system administrators continuously monitor the servers, and always take care of the latest updates.
Master nameserver
You can choose to run the domain fully in the Openprovider nameservers. This way, you don't have to look after the management of it. As an additional advantage, you lower the number of tasks on your server, freeing resources for all useful other things that you rent it for.
Slave nameserver
Sometimes, you might want to use your own nameservers, but feel pretty safe at the idea of a backup. And sometimes it is just a requirement, for example when registering a .de domain if you only have nameservers in one subnet. In all these cases, you can configure the Openprovider nameservers as secondary DNS, or slave nameserver.
Extensive tools
Because Openprovider uses DNS templates, the creation of a new DNS zone is quite simple. In most cases you don't even have to perform an additional action. As addition to the default record types like a CNAME, you can extend your DNS zone with TXT or SPF records. Some spam filters use these record types for checking spam probability.
The Openprovider DNS management is a service for which development keeps in progress. In the nearby future we will add features like domain parking, domain forwarding and a lot of other services. As always: Openprovider is ahead of the market!
